Literature Text

Three thirty in the afternoon
Many souls in sight
London’s lookin' like a ghost town
On a moonless cold night

Raindrops from the gray sky
Falling from his eyes
He's headin' to somewhere
That John can never go
And then he falls
And then he falls

Every streetlights burning
In that center of town
He’s running cross the street
His words rushing around

Askin' him to stop
Hopin' he’s not right
That he actually means it
And that he will be alright
And then he falls
And then he falls

Then he falls
And John screams
Disappearing
With a broken dream

As time blows on
Out of his control
Deep inside
He still sees him fall

He’s waitin' by the window
Watching life go by
He wishes he was there
And that he was alive

But though the wind and rain
A faded image shows
He watches from afar
Because he knows
And then he falls
And then he falls

Then he falls

And John screams
Disappearing
With a broken dream

As time blows on
Out of his control
Deep inside
He still sees him fall

He limps back down the hallway
To the first bedroom door
Reaching for the pistol
Kept in his dresser drawer

Tells the old man in the mirror
He can't do this anymore
He’ll make sure tonight the last night
Then he appears at the door...
